Unfortunately, most people put little thought into what they say. However, what we say is incredibly powerful. Words are one of those rare things that never go away. They’re like air. You can’t see them, but they’re always there. Once you say it out loud, you can’t take it back.
If we’re using our words to encourage others and ourselves that can be a great thing, but used the wrong way words can really have a negative impact. You can always apologize for things that you didn’t “mean” to say, but the memory of what was said lives on.
So, let’s stop saying things we don’t mean and put more thought into what we’re saying. Let’s go out of our way to thank someone, congratulate someone or encourage someone. Let’s talk positive. It takes a little extra effort, but the results can be tremendous.
Rhonda Sue says
Words are very powerful! Words can build up or tear down! Speak encouraging words, words of good report, and words of wisdom into the lives of others! We can make a difference with the words we speak! Speak it!
