I recently had the chance to be part of an episode of the Inspiring Awesome podcast with James Carbary and Kenneth Ortiz sharing some of my personal story and how I came to work for Jeff Gordon, Inc.
Where I am today was not a one step process. There were many, many decisions along the way that greatly affected my life.
It’s pretty amazing to look back now and see how so many different things came about as the result of stepping out and taking action. In the moment, I didn’t have or know exactly what the road map looked like. I just knew that I needed to keep learning, keep being proactive and keep moving forward. Each step prepared and progressed me for the next phase.
I’ve been incredibly blessed. So many people helped and continue to help me along the way. I’m thankful for the past. I’m thankful for the present. I’m thankful for the future.
The interview is 38 minutes long. Within it, here are some of the things I share:
1. How changing course halfway through my college career changed the course of my life.
2. Something I did to establish credibility that I previously didn’t really like that much.
3. Dealing with rejection, but pushing through it to land my first internship.
4. Something you should do every time you get a business card.
5. Nearly missing out on one of the biggest turning points in my life.
6. Two of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from being part of Jeff Gordon’s team.
7. An important factor for establishing a brand.
8. A childhood dream that didn’t pan out how I planned.
9. The huge difference in my life once identifying and shifting into my natural strengths.
10. The life changing importance of small decisions.
